Seva Committee Vision/Mission Statement:

We at NRIVA are committed to providing community service that enhances health and education, works to end poverty, and tackles the root causes of inequality. Our initiatives also focus on combating climate change, preserving the environment, and promoting sustainability. By empowering communities, we strive to create a more equitable and sustainable future for all

Seva (Community Services) Framework:

NRIVA adopted the Framework created by all United Nations Member States in 2015, for aligning all the community services.

At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), they recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go together with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

The SDGs are built on decades of work by countries and the UN, including the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs

NRIVA is currently working on the following SDGs through its various Seva initiatives across the country, implemented by its local and state-level chapters

Zero Hunger

Objective : End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

NRIVA initiatives

• Host Food Drives in various locations across the country
• Donate to local food banks
• Partner/Volunteer with local Food Banks
• Meals packing and distributions for local homeless shelters 

Good Health & Well-being:

Objective :  Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages

NRIVA initiatives

• Host Blood Drives in various locations across the country
• Partner/Volunteer with local Hospitals &Blood Banks
• Donate blood to associated hospitals
• Volunteer with local non-profit organizations

Quality Education

Objective :  Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

• Host Back to School supplies drive in various locations across the country
• Donate to distinguished / Title 1 schools, local underserved communities in need

Climate Action

Objective : Take urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts

• Adopt A Roador Park services across the country as part of a larger vision of the Greatest American Cleanup called “Keep America Beautiful”
• Plantation

Responsible Consumption

Objective :  Ensure sustainable consumption

• Partner/Volunteer with other non-profits to ensure sustainable consumption
